(Baltimore, Md.)—We have a handful of updates for you from Baltimore today including the official rules for BronyCon’s cosplay contest, the Postcards From Equestria art contest and our open mic.

Cosplay Costume Contest:

Get ready to channel your inner Rarity. BronyCon has officially confirmed the return of one of the most anticipated events from last year’s convention, the Cosplay Costume Contest!

Whether you’re dressing up as a human Twilight Sparkle, Discord or you’ve created a fursuit you’d like to show off, there is a category for you! From “Mane 6” to “Villainous Villains,” we’ve got a category for you! Think you can make one of our beloved character’s design’s 20% cooler? Then you’ve got to enter the special category for the “Most Creative Interpretation of a Character!” You can enter solo, or if you’ve got a whole pack of friends with talent, as a duo or group! And if you haven’t gotten your cutie mark yet, there’s even a special category for fillies and colts who are under the age of 13!

So whatever your level of talent or idea, grab those scissors, pull out the dress form, fire up the sewing machine, and get ready to show off your skills at BronyCon! Information and rules can be found on the Cosplay Costume Contest page.

Postcards From Equestria Art Contest:

How would you like to show off your skill with the pen to Blank Canvas? This is now your chance with the Postcards From Equestria art contest!

Artwork of any size that can be brought to BronyCon is welcome so long as it follows the theme “Postcards From Equestria.” To be eligible, one of BronyCon’s mascots (Blank Canvas, Hoof Beatz or Mane Event) must be featured in the artwork. Remember, BronyCon is a family friendly convention, so make sure that the artwork has no adult themes such as profanity, nudity or violence.

All submissions for the contest are due by July 29. To register for the contest, fill out the form located here. Please note that you must be attending the convention and cannot be a staff member or family of staff to enter. More information can be found on the Postcards From Equestria page.

Open Mic:

All types of talent are welcome on stage as long as it relates to My Little Pony, is under 10 minutes and abides by the convention-wide rules, we’d love to see what you’ve got! And if you don’t have the charisma to get up on stage, be sure to join us and witness all the special talent your fellow fans have to offer!

So prepare your routine, create something special and most importantly, have fun! We’ll bring the stage, you bring your talent to BronyCon 2014! Rules and more information can be found on the Open Mic page.
