Whether you’ve attended BronyCon in the past as working press or this is your first time, all working press must register and submit the necessary information and verifications for approval. Your application and verification materials must be emailed by June 30th, 2016. Applications sent after this date will not be considered. There will be NO onsite press registration. For information on the necessary verifications, please review our section titled Verification Material Requirements.
Once you have submitted your application and verification materials please allow eight to ten weeks for processing and review. You will be notified via email if you are approved or declined. If you do not receive a response from BronyCon within eight to ten weeks, please contact [email protected] with your outlet name and date your application and verification materials were submitted.

Each year BronyCon welcomes members of the press from all over the world. Although requirements vary, BronyCon will consider applications from press in the comic book, book publishing, animation, film, television, gaming, and other pop culture related industries. All press applicants must be currently employed or on assignment by the outlet they are representing and only one applicant needs to apply for everyone on your team with the required verification materials.
In general, press applicants fall into one of four categories: print, online, broadcast, and podcast / blog. Documentary crews may qualify for complimentary press badges. To meet the press application requirements, please find your category on the following pages and submit the appropriate verification materials.
If you are applying as print press, you must be currently employed by the outlet you are representing and you are required to email the following:

If you are applying as YouTube or podcast press staff you must be currently employed with the outlet you are representing and you are required to submit the following:

Script, outline, treatment and/or web page of proposed documentary. Please be specific as to what you hope to record. Additionally, include crew size and equipment.
REMINDER: Documentary crews may quality for complimentary press badges. One person from your team will submit an application and if approved, you will be given select number of badges for you and your crew. Please follow the submission guidelines for outlets/companies.
As always, the issuance of a press badge is at the sole discretion of BronyCon. Please be respectful of all our attendees. A BronyCon press badge is provided as a courtesy to cover the event. BronyCon does not tolerate coverage that includes stunt type events, ambush interviewing or any sort of action that could make any of our attendees feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
A BronyCon press badge is good for entry to all the events held at BronyCon. The BronyCon press badge, however, does not allow for early entry into Blank Canvas’s Marketplace, Crusaders’ Clubhouse, Cosplay Lounge and exclusive paid workshops. Please keep in mind that press registration is a courtesy and BronyCon press badge is non-transferable. You may not transfer or sell your BronyCon press badge. Unfortunately, a press badge does not allow for plus ones, guests, or child badges. A press badge has no monetary value and you are not entitled to a refund of any amount for your complimentary press badge. Duplicate badges of any type are not allowed.
Members of the press that want to videotape, film, and/or record any matter that will be used for commercial purposes (non-news) must first obtain written permission from BronyCon as well as permission of the panel participants. Posting a panel in its entirety is not permitted at BronyCon.
